New York Fashion Week is back with over 100 brands showing their Spring 2023 Collections over the course of six days. On September 9-14, 2022, thousands of people witnessed the series of runway shows and presentations showcasing upcoming collections from prominent designers.
Twice a year, New York hosts New York Fashion Week, where several designers show collections and sell them immediately after the shows. New York, London, Milan, and Paris, also known as the “Big Four,” are the four cities regarded as the main fashion capitals of the 21st century and which receive the majority of press coverage since they host the most prestigious fashion weeks.
Fashion designers, brands, or “houses” use runway fashion shows to show buyers and the media their newest collections. These events affect the fashion trends for the current season and the seasons to come.
Celebrities were present in this event including Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Shalom Harlow, who were among the models in the show. Study shows that NYFW brings in over $900 million annually for the City’s economy as over 230,000 people attend in the series of events.
